Somewhere to Put the Pile

I have a finished chapter about my first real job. Long John Silver's in Redlands. It's sitting in Notion.

I have four days of a road trip with Liz written up, our first real trip after the kids left. Same folder.

I'm twenty-two drawings into a hundred, because I decided to learn to draw. Those are in a sketchbook.

I have years of photos on my phone.

And I have a website, TaxDebtConsultant.com, where none of that belongs. That site has one job.

If you owe the IRS or the Franchise Tax Board and you're scared, it tells you what to do next. It's the company. Nobody goes there to read about a road trip.

So I built this one. This one is the man.

I've been in the Redlands area since 1979. Fourteen years as a medic. Years in mortgage and real estate. Eight years hiding from the IRS, then almost a decade helping other people stop hiding from it. Somewhere in all that I started writing things down, and the pile got bigger than the places I had to put it.

That's the whole reason. I needed somewhere to put the pile.

Here's how it's laid out. Field Notes is this. Stories, true ones, some with photos. I'm not calling it a blog.

My Story is the long version. Books is what I've written and what's coming. Media is the interviews and the PBS piece. Work is what I do for a living and where to go if you need it, and it's short on purpose.

The Long John Silver's story is probably next.

This is post number one. I'm putting it up partly to see how the page handles photos. If it looks rough, it'll get fixed.
