I made a comic book about the IRS

This afternoon, Liz and I sat in the living room and watched our daughter play her first college volleyball game.

She is a sophomore at the United States Coast Guard Academy. She was not expecting much playing time.

Second set, she came out in the libero jersey.

Third set, she started.

Nine years of practices, long drives, hard seasons, and work nobody claps for. And there she was, starting for the United States Coast Guard Academy.

I am still riding that one. And when I feel like this, I give something away.

I have been telling people for years that I was going to make a comic book about tax problems.

Most of them thought I was kidding.
 

I wasn't.

It is the first comic book I know of built around what actually happens to a real person when The Collector (the IRS) comes for them.

Not a brochure. Not a tax guide with a cape on it.

A story, with a villain who does not blink and a person who has to decide what to do about it.

I built it because most people will not read forty pages about levies and liens.

They will read this. And when they finish it, they will understand what is coming at them better than they did twenty minutes earlier.
