Family in Oak Glen

My Dad, Juan Orona, came down from Washington to come to Andrews, graduation/birthday/going-away-party. We decided to go to Oak Glen which is right up the road from our home. Here the are at local sanctuary along with my nephew, Chris Orona.

Grand Canyon

This past holiday weekend we had the opportunity to go on a family trip to the Grand Canyon with Redlands Boy Scout Troop 11. It was the very first time personally and first time for my entire family to see this amazing wonder of the world.

Word cannot describe how beautiful this place is, and I know it is one the things you need to see in your lifetime.

Why It’s Important To Teach Kids About Entrepreneurship

When you were a kid did you ever have a lemonade stand? Did you ever sell candy to the neighbors or at school to make a few bucks? Not all children have been bitten by the entrepreneurial bug when they are younger but I really feel it's important to really teach kids the harsh realities of going into the workforce so they have a good understanding when it comes time to make the important decisions in life.Bella Samaniego Entrepreneur

You see one of the things we have working against ourselves is our education system. With a few exceptions, most of the education we receive from the time we are in kindergarten to the day we graduate from college is…

  • Get a good education
  • Graduate with your degree
  • Get a job at a company with good benefits and you will be set for life!

There are several problems with this.

First…almost the entire educational environment is focused on getting a job.

Now please don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with getting a job and working for a great company. Most people end of doing that and a some enjoy it and make a big difference.

But the harsh reality is that a HUGE percentage of people with jobs are not satisfied because they either don't like where they are work or they are one paycheck from being broke all the time.

The Second problem is that it is very RARE to find anyone that works at a company these days for more than 3 to 5 years. In fact switching jobs has become the "new norm". And of course there are always lay-offs, budget cuts, etc.

Are we teaching our children about these realities?

Wouldn't it make sense to spend time when they are young and teach them about entrepreneurship. Starting their own home-business…especially one online. Heck…the younger generations practically live on online these days. Why not teach them how to make some money.

So knowing that kids these days can really benefit about learning how to start their own business…where do you start?

I think it's important to set expectations right from the start. Starting a home business for the young entrepreneur can be exciting, challenging but over all they need to learn that it does involve work.

The truth is starting an online business can make you a lot more money than most regular jobs, but they do involve work, time and dedication. Something that sometimes kids want to skip. Make sure they understand that a home business is real. The more time they dedicate the better it will be.

The other important thing to consider is giving them options. Letting them know what it's really like working out in the "Rat Race" and working on a home-business. Be realistic. It's easy for kids to want to choose a "Safe" way rather than something that may take a little extra effort. Most adults are like that as well.

The last thing is to always be positive to kids about running your own business. Especially from home. You see most kids still have dreams when they are young. They want accomplish great things. Somehow as they get older they settle for mediocrity… that is unless they have a good example so be the kind of person who inspires those youngsters.

With the job outlook looking bleak these days, young kids (and many adults) should really focus on a home business to get them to their goals and dreams. Help them keep those dreams alive by being a positive role model to them always.

If you are looking for a business that is positive, makes great money and can started part-time, please watch the video below or share it with someone who you think could benifet from a home-business online.

…and follow the simple steps. It's working for me and thousands of others out there online.

Work With Me –

PS Looking for a few people to teach them the basics of making money online.

Daddy, What is a job?

"Daddy, what is a job?" Bella asked.

I almost found it funny when she asked me the question.

I asked her , "Why do you ask?"

She said that her friends in Kindergarten parent have to leave them on playground because they had to rush to their job's and we always stayed with her until the bell rings.

She asked, "Do you and mommy had jobs?"

I said, "we do have jobs, but we work for ourselves, we where entrepreneurs."

I said, "Do you know when you help your mom with making the newsletters? That is part of her entrepreneur job creating newsletters for business."

She said, "I want to work for myself."

I told Bella, "Did you know that you are entrepreneurs. You have had a rock business, a lemonade business, a jewelry business."

I asked her, "so what do you want to do as an entrepreneur when you get bigger."

She said. "I am going to write books."

"I want to be an author/illustrator."

"Is that an entrepreneur too?"

"Yes Bella, that is an entrepreneur and I think you will make a great entrepreneur!"

So I told Bella, we will be updating her website, www.BellaSamaniego.com to show Bella and Author/Illustrator.

Oh yeah, did you know her first book is almost done 😉

Keep a look out for that book.

Tomorrow I will share a true story about my friend Joe story with his daughter.

Your friend,

Summer Rush

It's been a busy few weeks with the end of school and beginning of summerall you parents probably totally understand where I am coming from in regards to time.

A couple weeks ago just before the end of the school. One of the big accomplishment we are proud of Andrew for was his final push to get straight A's for his Spring semester of his Junior yearHe wanted a 4.0.

Originally he didn't think it would happenand he did itHe pulled out the last week of school.

We then watched our daughter Bella graduate from Kindergarten and now is a 1st grader. It was the cutest thing watching them get their "magic hugs" from their school teacher that turned them into a 1st grader.

With the end schoolwe got Andrew off to the first of his many trips this summer. His first stop was The United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar programHe left for Annapolis, Maryland on June 14 and spent 7 days experiencing life as a Midshipman. The goal of the program is for them to experience life as midshipman and to see if that would be a place they would like to attend school and become a Naval Officer after graduation.

We didn't get to communicate while they where at the Academy, but where able to see photos on Facebook. We got to see a couple of pictures of Andrew and they put up this great action shot of him running in formation:

Andrew loved the Naval Academy and said that is where he wants to go to collegehe knows it will be touch, but he is ready for the challenge.

Andrew got home on June 20th from Annapolis and then 8 hours later we got him to American Legion post in Redlands to take his 8 hour bus drive with 60+ other boys selected to American Legion Boy State Program. He will be there until the end of June.

Here are a few pictures we got before boarding the on the bus to Sacramento

Now it's time to let Andrew handle business

Now we will be spending some time helping Bella reach her goal of becoming an Author/Illustrator.

Oh yeah, you haven't heard she has been working on her first book for the over yearIt should happen later this year watch for details at BellaSamaniego.com. I have a post on how Bella did on her test hikeWe did this hike to determine if she will be joining us on our 25+ mile in Yosemite National Park later this summerIt was truly amazing what she accomplished.

If you like to see what Andrew is upvisit him at AndrewSamaniego.com

Until Next Time
